Review
Design & Build Quality
Measuring at a thickness of just 6.7mm, the Red Dot Design Award-winning Jumpr Slate 10K from EnerPlex is possibly one of the thinnest battery packs we have come across so far that has a 10,000 mAh capacity. Aside from the thin profile, it is also light, weighing only a little less than 0.8 lb..
At the bottom of the battery pack is two 2.4A USB ports, a micro-USB port, LED battery indicators, and a power button.
Users will notice some holes on the side of the battery pack. These are binder holes, which allow users to conveniently clip the Jumpr Slate into a a binder or notebook for easy portability. Users can also slide the Jumpr Slate 10k into a laptop or tablet case due to its thin profile design.
The Jumpr Slate 10k has a rubbery material finish, which provides durability as well as a nice texture to grip onto. We really love the overall design and build quality of the Jumpr Slate 10k.
Battery Life
The Jumpr Slate 10K features a 10,000 mAh capacity with two 2.4A USB ports, which can be used to recharge devices ranging from smartphones to tablets to cameras; technically any devices that utilizes a USB charging cable. It also has a micro-USB port, which is utilized for recharging the battery pack.
The panel of four, green LED battery indicators allow users to quickly check the remaining battery or when the battery pack is fully charged. Each LED indicator indicates 25% charge.
One advantage of having dual USB ports is to be able to charge two USB devices simultaneously. With the Jumpr Slate 10k fully charged, we managed to get 80% charge for our iPad Air and a full charge for HTC One (M8) using both USB ports at the same time. The charging time seems to be the same as it would be using a power outlet, thanks to the 2.4A USB ports.
Our only complaint was the Jumpr Slate 10k takes too long to be recharged. It took us about 10 hours to fully charge it.
Final Thoughts
At 6.7mm thick, the Jumpr Slate 10k is possibly the thinnest lithium polymer portable battery pack available in the 10,000 mAh market. It also features two 2.4A USB ports for quick charging, with the binder holes for easier portability. For users that want the huge battery capacity without the bulk, the Jumpr Slate 10k is definitely the one to get.
