Features

We're thoroughly pleased with the Lynktec Rechargeable Apex. The built-in rechargeable battery, paired with the power-saving feature is definitely something that we looked forward to. However, users that prefer a stylus with pressure sensitivity will have to look elsewhere as this stylus does not have the feature.

The Lynktec Rechargeable Apex is an active fine point stylus that is shaped like a pen, so it feels great in users’ hand. The Apex is compatible with all current iPad models including the iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad Mini, iPad 2/3/4, and many popular Android devices. Before we move on to our review of the stylus, let’s take a look at its features.

Design & Build Quality

Weighing at 1 oz., the Lynktec Rechargeable Apex has a dimension of 5.9″ x 0.6″. Though the overall design is a little bigger than a standard Pilot pen, it feels very comfortable in our hands. We were thoroughly impressed by the accuracy and quality of the stroke when writing.

As for the build quality, the Apex feels very solid. The nib quality is also one of the best out in the market. It’s neither too hard or soft. It just feels perfect in our hands.

Battery Life

This is something that we looked forward to. Most of the active styluses on the market at the moment uses a single AAAA battery, which are not always readily available at local stores. With the Apex, it comes with a rechargeable battery, rechargeable via microUSB. Yay!

Lynktec claims the battery life on the Apex at about 20 hours and we find that to be close to what they claimed, at about 21 hours. The recharge time takes approximately 1.5 hours.

Features

We really like the simplicity of the Apex. There’s no need for any syncing before use. Simply press the button on the handle till it powers on, and it’s good to go. The button also acts as an indicator for low battery.

Another feature that we really like about the Apex is the power saving feature. It will automatically power off if left unused after a certain period of time.

Lynktec also included an extra nib in the end cap, just in case something happens. It is really nice to see that Lynktec pays attention to minor details such as this.

Final Thoughts

The Lynktec Rechargeable Apex is definitely one of the better styluses we tested that is available in the market. However, those that are looking for an active stylus with pressure sensitivity will have to look elsewhere as this stylus doesn’t have the feature. But on a day-to-day usage, such as note-taking, PDF markup, this active stylus will definitely not disappoint.
