Design & Build Quality

The TYLT Energi Sliding Power Case is a two-part design; a slim protective case and the battery sleeve. Both the parts have a soft matte finish and we find that the build quality is great too.

The slim protective case is easy to fit, protecting the device from knocks and bumps. The case also has cutouts on both side of the case to matches the grooves on the battery sleeve for an easy attachment.

Fit wise, the Energi Sliding Power Case fits perfectly well on our iPhone 6S. We still have access to all button functions, which is great. At first, we were concern that it will feel wobbly when those two cases are attached, but we quickly found out that our worry was unfounded. Both cases attached really well and it feels great in our hand.

At the bottom front of the battery sleeve, we noticed that there are speaker grills. Upon closer inspection, these are not actual speakers but it is designed to direct audio from the bottom of the device so that the audio does not sound muffled.

Coupled with its soft matte finish and attention to details, we really like the design and build quality of the Energi Sliding Power Case.

Battery Life

The Energi Sliding Power Case features a battery capacity of 3,200 mAh, which is almost twice the size of the built-in iPhone 6S battery. Located at the bottom of the battery sleeve is a micro-USB port located at the bottom of the case, which is used for both charging and syncing.

We found out that whenever the case is plugged in for charging, it charges our device first, then the case. In our opinion, this is a great feature as it prevents overheating from both batteries being charged at the same time. Alternatively, the battery sleeve can be charged separately. It takes about 1.5 hours on average to be fully charged.

To charge the device, simply press the button on the rear of the case. Once the device is fully charged, the Energi Sliding Power Case will automatically turns off, preserving any remaining charge. There’s four little LED on the button to indicate how much charge is left in the battery sleeve.

Final Thoughts

The Energi Sliding Power Case is a great battery sleeve. With its two-piece design, users can use it with its slim protective case and slides in the battery sleeve when needed. With this, users no longer have to worry about running out of battery on a long weekend without a power source.
