Design & Build Quality
The Fugoo Style has a modular design, where the sleeves (also known as jackets) can be removed and interchange. Interchanging the sleeves do not compromise the audio quality as the driver is located inside the core. The speaker has an IP67 certification; fully protected from dust and can be submerged in water for up to 30 mins. It is also shockproof, so it is pretty much built to withstand any harsh environment.
Weighing at ~1 lb, the Fugoo Style has a dimension of 7.4″ x 2.9″ x 2.3″, which is a relatively small Bluetooth speaker. Users will find the power, LED indicator, and Bluetooth button on one side of the speaker while a micro-USB port and a 3.5 mm audio jack on the other side. The micro-USB port is used for both charging and firmware updating purposes.
There are 3 buttons located at the top of the Fugoo Style; volume up, multi-function button, and volume down.
Fugoo also bundled some accessories with the Fugoo Style; an AC adapter, micro-USB cable, 3.5 mm audio cable and travel bag.
Overall, we loved the attention to details the team put into its design, which is both stylish and durable.
Fugoo claims that battery life on the Fugoo Style will last up to 40 hours of continuous play. During our test, we managed to achieve 38.5 hours at 50% volume, 1.5 hours short of what Fugoo claimed. Still, that is really impressive.
While the Fugoo Style is charging, the LED indicator will blink green. A solid green indicates that it is fully charged. Charging time is about 3.5 hours on average, via the micro-USB port.
The Fugoo Style boasts a six proprietary, custom-designed acoustic drivers; two tweeters to deliver clean highs, two subs to provide mid-range punch and two passive radiators to yield a full and deep bass.
We ran our usual audio test. We played Awolnation’s Sail and Imagine Dragons’ Radioactive to test the bass. The overall audio is well balanced and the bass does not sound muddy, thanks to the positioning of both bass on either side of the speaker.
As for mids, we tested with the track Payphone by Maroon 5. The overall audio is pretty well balanced too with detailed background audio.
Lastly, for the highs, we played Celine Dion’s How Does a Moment Last Forever. The overall vocals and instruments is not as crisp as we would like it to be but it is still well balanced overall.
The Fugoo Style is a great and stylish Bluetooth speaker that delivers great 360-degree audio with unparalleled battery life. From its build quality to its audio quality to its durability, the Fugoo Style is a perfect outdoor companion for music lovers.
