Review: Jabra Move Wireless Headphone

Jabra recently launched a new Bluetooth headphone, Jabra Move. Available in 3 different colors – Cobalt (Blue), Cayenne (Red), and Coal (Black), the wireless headphone is a very trendy, and beautiful headphone. Let’s take a quick look at the features before diving in into the review of Jabra’s latest wireless headphone.

Review

Design & Build Quality

The Jabra Move has a clean, simple, and beautiful Scandinavian design, which is very pleasing to the eye. It comes in 3 different colors; Cobalt (Blue), Cayenne (Red), and Coal (Black), all inspired by the lights and colors of a modern metropolis. On the right side of the headphone, users will find the power button with a micro-USB port while on the left, users will find the volume rocker button along with a multi-function button. The multi-function button acts as a play/pause button and doubles as a accept/reject call button.

The build of the Jabra Move is very sturdy. It’s made of stainless steel, covered with dirt resistant fabric. Jabra claims that it has been tested to withstand abuse; drop tested (1.5 m) and flexibility tested (10,000 times).

We noticed that throughout our usage time, the volume button tends to be difficult to press at times. There were times when we had to apply a little more pressure to have it registered.

Battery Life

 The battery life on the Jabra Move is really good. We ran our usual test for headphones in which we continuously played music at 50% volume. Jabra claims that the battery will last up to 8 hours and we managed to get 14.5 hours, almost doubling what Jabra claims.

The headphone takes about 2 hours to charge from empty to full, using a micro USB cable.

Audio Quality

The sound produced by the headphone is crisp, and clear. We feel that it could outrival other headphones in the same price range in terms of audio quality.

Although the headphone is not a noise cancelling headphone, it did a good job blocking out most unwanted noise while listening to music in a busy environment.

Features

Jabra Move supports Bluetooth 4.0, which enables very quick pairing and re-pairing. One feature that we really love on the headphone is the ability to go wired. This is very convenient as it allows users to continue enjoying their music in case the battery dies midday. The headphone also doubles as a bluetooth headset so users do not need to remove the headphone to take calls.

There is also a light indicator to check the battery status of the headphone. It has 3 different indicators; solid green for full/medium battery level, red for low and flashing red for critically low.

Real-World Test

Weighing at 5.59 oz, Jabra Move is very lightweight and we did not feel the weight of the headphones while having it on. The headband is adjustable to ensure a tight and comfortable fit. There is just enough cushioning around the ear cups for optimal comfort. We tested them for hours with no discomfort.

Final Thoughts

We love the Jabra Move with the exception of the volume buttons on the headphone. For $99, the overall audio quality is great. The Jabra Move is definitely a great bargain for music lovers who are looking for a good headphone without burning a hole in their pocket.
